Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that the current issue of Gift of Stitching has an ornament I designed with the Memory threads from DMC.

New Sampler Acquisition

Hi everyone,

Hope you are enjoying fall. I have just acquired a new sampler from the UK and wanted to share it. It is really different with the satin stitching at the bottom. This may make its way into an online class. I charted it the day I got it and now will be getting ready to stitch it or have a model sitcher stitch it for me. Where would I be without my wonderful model stitchers!
Have a good week.

I am back from a 10-day residency. It was grueling, but my last one for my doctoral program.
Visited downtown Washington and saw the White House, memorials etc. at night. Very nice. Also had the opportunity to do a little shopping. They have a wonderful underground shopping district in Arlington, VA and a great mall.

Teaching in Arkansas soon. Looking forward to meeting all the ladies and Linn. We are doing My favorite Scottish Sampler. This is one of my favorite samplers.

Hope everyone is staying cool. We went from 98 degree weather on Saturday to high 60's today. Not complaining, I much prefer a little cooler weather.

Finished Pieces

OK Ladies, I am waiting for finished pictures of your class pieces from the Western Reserve Guild. LOL

This heat has been terrible....too much humidity for me.

Thought I would provide a quick picture of two new sister samplers, the Peak girls. I purchased these samplers recently. I think it was so fun to purchase sister samplers! Now to carve out some time to design.

Dissertation is started, a few chapters done. Lots to go!

Have a good summer and take time to stitch!

Mary Jones New Reproduction Sampler

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are enjoying your summer! I have been busy working on my dissertation (what was I thinking when I decided to take on this huge obligation??!!)

I have just finished designing a new reproduction sampler by Mary Jones of Guilffield School, dated 1836. It is a beautiful sampler (which I own) in shades of greens and browns. The sampler includes the Hymn to Providence. Mary should be ready to be delivered to shops in the very near future.

I want to thank my model stitcher Chris for a wonderful stitching job! Without her help I couldn't get this accomplished. I hope you enjoy the sneak peek. The picture just doesn't do the sampler justice. I will be taking Mary to the Western Reserve Sampler guild this weekend. Have a great rest of the summer and take time to stitch!

Robin
P.S. Also look for a new reproduction sampler in the September issue of Cross Stitch and Needlework. You can see a preview at http://www.c-sn.com/
Watch as the pictures change and look for Emily Bradham.

Happy Father's Day to all those Dad's out there

Shawn is home safe and had a great time in Spain! A few delays on the way back, but all is well.

Spent last weekend of our group at Rose's and had a wonderful time as usual. Learned how to make a heart necklace. Thanks!

Will be starting my dissertation process next week. I am anxious to get started and look forward to working with my mentor. I am hoping to do research on women entrepreneurs.

Have a good week and make sure you spend some time celebrating father's day.

Welcome Summer

Well I think summer is here in Ohio. We have have had loads of rain and now heat and humidity. Did I miss Spring?

Greg, my Dad, and I got to visit Shawn at his summer internship job in Chicago. We had loads of fun last weekend. We went to the Shedd Aquarium and saw the "Jellies" exhibit. Here are a few pics of the special exhibit. We had a great weekend on Michigan Ave. and shopped in the suburbs too.

Shawn is now in Spain to speak about Math at an International Conference. Miss him already! Working on some new teaching pieces and several new samplers. Will post some pics soon.

Have a great summer and take time to stitch!
