I just designed a small design for the Lone Elm Lane 8" shaker box, "Robin's Egg Blue".    I love these shaker boxes!  The design does not include any finishing instructions, but I do have a name of a finisher that can finish the sweet box for you--just email me.  Who knows, you may decide to finish it yourself.  The design will be available soon.  Just contact me if you are interested in this design at rlaukhuf@gmail.com.

The design is called "Robin's Nest".  The linen and plaid wool is Weeks Dye Works.

I found such a beautiful verse to add to the design by J. M. Barrie.  The verse begins on the top of the shaker box and continues on in the interior band.

                                     The reason birds can fly...
and we can't is simply because they have a perfect faith,
for to have faith is to have wings...

Here are some pics:

Hi,

I have an updated pic of the Harrison Sampler.  You can see the start of the ship in the sampler.  I particularly like the verse.

Just when you think you will have extra time, you find something to fill it.  I have been busy with remodeling our kitchen and new flooring and furniture in the living room.

Hope you have a good week!

Take time to stitch.

Hope everyone is doing well!  I know anyone living in Ohio or near Ohio is looking forward to Spring.  It can't get here fast enough.  We had many cold snowy days.

Below is a sneak peek of a new sampler that will have a boat with sails.  It is a unique sampler.  The model stitcher just sent me this.  Stay tuned:

Have a good week.

Take time to stitch.

New Designs

I will not make it to the Nashville show this year due to other college work obligations.  Look for  two samplers in future issues of Sampler and Antique Needlework Quarter.  One is finished into a needle pocket.  Can't wait to share with you.

Hope you have been keeping warm.  It has been very cold in Ohio.  Snow coming again, but I don't think as bad as the east coast is sgetting.  Be safe and find time to stitch.

Robin

P.S.  I will have a new design that fits in a beautiful Lone Elm shakerbox.   Will post pics soon.

Another sneak peek at Richards Sampler

Here is another sneak peek of the Richards sampler.  The grass will eventually be satin stitched.    The grass is turning out to be a very close match to the original.

Adam and Eve Sampler

Here is a sampler I purchased some years back and had forgotten totally about.   It is Adam and Eve and unfortunately the name is gone.  It is quite bright.  The sampler was wrought in 1834, and has some religion advice.  I can't say this is my favorite Adam and Eve.  It does have some wonderful motifs.

Catherine Staley

Hi,

I found this previous little sampler I had saved when I had time to reproduce it.  Catherine Staley wrought this sampler in December of 1842.  She has words of wisdom:

The loss of time is much
The loss of truth is more
The loss of Christ is such
          That no man can restore

Here are a few sneak peeks as I am reproducing it:

What do you think?  Do you like the verse?

Hi everyone,

Just received an updated pic of the Richards Sampler from my model stitcher.  I really like how this is coming along, especially the grass.  The grass will be satin stitched over the cross stitch for the best coverage.  What do you think?

Delaware Historical Society Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone.

I hope you are enjoying your day with family and friends!  We had a beautiful summer weekend in Ohio.   My son, his wife, and dog Max were here along with my Dad and a good friend, Cynthia.  I wanted to give you a quick sneak peek at a new Delaware Historical Society sampler that I was given permission to reproduce.
It is the Richards sampler.  My model stitcher, Candace, is doing a great job!  I don't know what I would do without my model stitchers they provide me with more time to design.  Thanks!

Robin

Thank you to all the service men.

Today, would not be right, among all the cookouts and family gatherings,  unless we thanked those who have protected our country.  Some have given the ultimate sacrifice and my heart goes out to those families.  Thank you one and all!
